Dead Hunt - Beverly Connor Fast paced action and lots of fun and twists as the Museum Detective Extraordinaire (MDE) Diane Fallon tracks a (female!) serial killer. Three stars. June 2008
For the record, I discovered this author in a 5 minutes to closing frenzy (a Frenzy I tell you!!) at the Library on a Saturday night (had a major jonesing for a mystery; just went through the stacks grabbing all the Sherlock Holmes profiles (our library uses that to designate "Mystery/Suspense!") from writers I'd never heard of) (Incidentally, this is how I discovered F. Paul Wilson - I highly recommend this technique; the time limit helps too, because you don't overthink the books you grab.)
Anyhoo, I really really really like this Beverly Connor person - she's such an enjoyable, gentle, yet gutsy writer. She reminds me of Nevada Barr (she probably hates getting that comparison), but, gulp, I think Connor's the better writer!
